WWII German Army Sports Shirt Eagle Quilt

This is a really neat piece I picked up at our Leavenworth show.  It is a full size, 58x80", quilt containing 60 German army sports shirt eagles.  The quilt has a combination of hand and machine stitching.  Story was that the GI brought home the insignia and his mother made the quilt.  It looks to have been used too as the material around the eagles shows a lot of use wear and is thin with some of the cotton stuffing left exposed.  Most of the eagles are in very good or better condition and are of a better quality material than that used for the quilt.   Unique repurposing of captured souvenirs!
